چکیده
ABSTRACT Flooding is a stressful condition that causes damage to the photosynthetic apparatus, negatively affecting growth of seedlings fruit species, including Hymenaea courbaril L. Studies on physiological management, such as exogenous application phytohormones, alleviate abiotic stress have increased. The objective this study was evaluate effect foliar salicylic acid (SA) H. subjected flooding. received four concentrations SA (0, 100, 200, and 400 mg L-1) were two water regimes: a) control - non-flooded irrigated daily b) flooded placed in plastic pool, keeping depth at ± 5.0 cm above substrate level. After 35 days, we evaluated gas exchange, initial growth, quality, potential ecological resilience seedlings. All survived, but had reduced photosynthesis, carboxylation Rubisco efficiency, water-use stomatal conductance when they 100-300 L-1 SA. between 100 300 greater phenotypic plasticity. Effect of Seed Priming with Salicylic Acid and Jasmonic Acid on Emergence and Early Growth of Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo L.) Seedlings under Drought Stress Condition
In order to study the effect of seed priming with salicylic acid (SA) and jasmonic acid (JA) on emergence and early growth of pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo L.) seedlings under drought stress condition, a factorial experiment based on randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications was conducted at the greenhouse of Malayer university. Experimental treatments were seed priming with sal...
متن کاملThe role of the storage carbon of cotyledons in the establishment of seedlings of Hymenaea courbaril under different light conditions.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Hymenaea courbaril (Leguminosae-Caesalpinioideae) is a tree species with wide distribution through all of the Neotropics. It has large seeds (approx. 5 g) with non-photosynthetic storage cotyledons rich (40 %) in a cell wall polysaccharide (xyloglucan) as a carbon reserve. Because it is found in the understorey of tropical forests, it has been considered as a shade-tolerant,...
متن کاملinfluences of prolonged soil flooding on leaf gas exchanges and growth of populusdeltoides and taxodiumdistichum seedlings
the effects of 450-days of flooding on morphological and gas exchanges responses were investigated under controlled conditions for populus deltoides (colon 77.51) and taxodium distichum seedlings. seedlings were subjected to three outdoor treatments: not flooded (control), flooded to 3 cm above the soil surface (shallow flooded), and flooded to 15 cm above the soil surface (deep flooded). flood...
متن کاملEffect of salicylic acid on growth and phytochemical characteristics of Thymus daenensis under drought irrigation
Drought as the most important problem of agricultural development in Iran is one of the main obstacles in the production of agricultural products. Because the global approach to the production of medicinal plants is effective in improving the quantity and quality of the substance, today the use of salicylic acid as one of the plant hormones in increasing plant resistance to stresses such as dro...
متن کاملGibberlic Acid and Salicylic Acid Effects on Seed Germination and Seedlings Growth of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Under Salt Stress Condition
Seedlings establishment at early growth stages of crop plants is severely affected by soil salinity. Therefore, high germination rate and vigorous early growth under salty soils is preferred. In this study germination and seedling growth of a wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was assessed using three replicates of 50 seeds in a factorial laid out in two separate experiments as Completely Ra...
